Shaws modem is in bridged mode. I inherited this network so not sure of all the settings are correct but it was working and then just stopped out of the blue. Shaw ISP had been going around and upgrading all there modems and speeds in the area around this time and have now upgraged ours aswell. Not sure if this has any impact or not. eth0/0 to a static ip in an untrusted zone set to auto negotiate (i ahve changed the speeds aswell didn't make any difference). I have a trusted bgroup0 with a 192 range that the lantronix device sits on. Also I had mentioned earlier that if there was a laptop connected to the juniper and ping out that the connection would still go down but thats not the case. If i have a laptop pinging out then it will stay up. As soon as I remove the laptop off the 192 then i loose connection to the watering system that night.
I currently have a laptop plugged directly into the shaw modem with a different static ip address and range. It did lose its connection after one day. So shaw suggested that we use a dynamic ip for testing on the laptop and that never lost connection. So I have put it back onto the static range sepperate of the Junipers range to see if it loses its connection again. Its been 2 days now and it hasn't lost connection. Im thinking its a SHAW issue but they arn't admitting it.
When I do lose connection to the juniper a reboot of the SHAW modem resolves the issuse no i don't need to reboot the juniper.
If ou need any other info please let me know.
