When netscreen first released their Netscreen 5, I was fortunate enough to be sent to class in Dallas on how to use it. One of the first things we learned was that in order to access the GUI, we had to enter some commands via CLI first. I cannot remember those commands to save my life.
I have an original grey (not blue) Netscreen 5 running ScreenOS 1.0. I found it running 2.something but I downgraded it just to be that way. Now, I cannot access the GUI and cannot ping the trust interface because I need to enter something... I have tried what is obvious to me. SYSTEM-IP, MANAGE PING, MANAGE WEB, MANAGE-IP.... nothing is working.
Does some old fart out there remember those initial commands? This glitch was removed soon after the firewalls were released so there was a very small window to be exposed to this.
Thank you for any info you can provide. Grateful and apprecative.
